The Uruguayan Football Federation announced today the initial list of the first team to begin the final preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The initial list included 55 players who will begin training at Montevideo’s Centenario Stadium Stadium.
The Uruguayan Federation said in a statement that head coach Diego Alonso selected the initial roster representing the overall total of players nominated to defend the colors of the team at the World Cup, with the number being reduced according to the players’ physical measurements to be held this weekend.
FICSA conveyed statements to coach Diego Alonso confirming that the team would go through the final preparatory phase with all the selected elements and would announce the final list before heading to Doha for the World Cup.
The coach confirmed that the team will be ready to provide the best levels in Qatar. Noting that the final list will not see any surprises, he is keen to bring the best players to participate to accomplish and not just to participate.
