Alfonso Davies decides his position on participating in World Cup

Bayern Munich striker Alfonso Davies settled his stance on being in the 2022 World Cup with Canada despite his recent injury.

Davies was injured during Bayern’s 3-2 win over Hertha Berlin last November 5 in the Bundesliga.

“The doctor told me that I would recover in two weeks, I still feel a little pain, but I would be there for the 2022 World Cup at 100%.”

“We don’t want to make a dream and then we are disappointed, so we are entering with the mentality of winning every single stage, especially in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.”

“This year’s 2022 World Cup will bring much to the country in 2026.”

The left-back suffers from a muscle rupture in his right thigh that caused him to come out of the game, a replacement that could keep him out of the 2022 World Cup.

The 22-year-old full-back is one of Canada’s leading stars returning to the 2022 World Cup after a 36-year absence.

Davies made 34 appearances for Canada, scoring 12 goals and making 17 more.

Canada plays in Group F at the World Cup with Belgium, Croatia and Morocco.

Canada begins its 2022 World Cup campaign, taking on Belgium on November 23, then Croatia on November 27, and concluding the group stage against Morocco on December 1.
