Opportunity to rehabilitate at Qatar World Cup

Despite Portugal’s victory over Ghana in the final round of 2014, World Cup in Brazil (2/1) Ghanaians denied Portugal the group stage at the time, as the Portuguese national team needed to win a large number of goals to outscore the United States of America. But Ghana’s steadfastness and Portugal’s denial of a difference of more than one goal led to an early farewell to the tournament by finishing third in the group.

In the previous edition, held in Russia in 2018, the Portuguese national team could not go away in the World Cup because of Uruguay, after the final eighth round saw a clash between Portugal and Uruguay, ending in the latter’s interest with a score (2/1), to bid farewell to the then European champions.
